Never played squash before? You will need to purchase the following:

  1. A squash racket. We recommend spending no more than €40 - €50 on this. Any decent sports shop will supply squash rackets and squash balls.

  2. A squash ball (or two). Squash balls are rated on how fast or slow they perform and this is identified by the colour of the spot on the ball. A blue spotted ball is fastest, red is medium fast while single yellow spot is slow. You can also get double yellow spotted balls, which are super slow. In league and ladder competitions we play with the single yellow spotted ball.
When starting out, play your first few games with the faster balls and work your way up to the single yellow spot ball.

  3. A pair of runners, preferably with non-marking soles but running runners will do fine.

  4. A basic understanding of the rules. These are posted in the squash courts and you can also see them here.
